A truly underrated and fantastic steakhouse, located oddly behind a hotel in the outskirts of Santa Clara by Great America. I would be happy if not everyone knew about this place so I can get a reservation. The restaurant is big, classy and seems to be busy all the time. Lots of people come here for lunch and celebrating life events. I really enjoyed my ribeye steak as it was fairly priced, seasoned and cooked perfectly medium rare. Service is attentive, professional and certainly welcoming. I left here with friends completely full, happy and looking forward to the next life event to come back.

I'm not sure why the low ratings. I had a wonderful dirty martini. Gin A cup of New England clam chowder that was nice, creamy, delicious. Main course was a wild Alaskan halibut with truffle garlic cream risotto baby carrots tarragon lemon butter sauce and it was delicious . The fish was wonderfully prepared. The perfect light meal that I wanted. The staff was great. Very attentive. Great service.

After about 10 years, we finally came back to give it another try. This time we're pleasantly surprised with the quality of service and food. Birks is still here after the pandemic while the rest of the building is pretty much vacant. Although, from entering the building, the sign of auto theft sparked our concern. The hostess was friendly; we were quickly seated at the table of our choice. Our server was friendly and inviting as well; she immediately opened the bottle of wine we brought in (corkage fee was $30). We ordered the oysters as a starter. Let's get down to the main course - prime rib. This time our prime ribs at medium temperature was cooked to perfection. Very flavorful, reminded us of Sundance's prime rib, they were on point. Generous amount of vegetable also cooked to perfection. We will definitely come back again.

Outstanding meal and service. Birks was most deserving of one of my rarely awarded 5 star reviews because I can not honestly think of anything positive from out visit. The wait staff and reception were awesome. The location, although seemingly located in a business office complex, works and the inside was formal and full of character. We beat the happy hour crowd to the bar but I can imagine this would bustling at the end of the business day. We hit it between lunch and dinner service, so our casual attire was fine for the high top tables. Could definitely see it trending toward a more business casual or formal in the evening. Food was impossibly good. Had to start with the Caesar Salad which was so on point, its not funny. Great start to the meal. Had the Pork Chops and man they didn't disappoint. Seasoned and cook just right. Its a generous thick cut (2 actually) still on the bone. Complimented with mashed potatoes and a spinach puree. Overall exceptional dinner and experience.

I've dined at Birk's several times over the years and recently revisited for their Prime Rib March Mondays to celebrate their 35 year anniversary. Nothing like a glass of red wine and a medium rare steak to get you through your Monday. Nestled inconspicuously between some tall office buildings, Birk's is a well-kept secret right off the highway. You've probably seen the bright red "Birk's" neon sign driving down 101. It's not the easiest to find, but it'll be worth the effort. The easiest way to access the restaurant is to drive to the back of the building to park and walk along the left side of the building with the Birk's sign to reach the entrance. The restaurant is bigger than it appears to be, with multiple dining areas and a large bar. Despite it being a Monday, it was fairly packed and bustling, so make sure to make a reservation if you're coming for the special. My group kicked off our meal with the oysters and bone marrow. Pretty standard, toast could've been fresher. The $35 prix fixe menu for March Mondays included a choice of first course: mixed greens, caesar salad, clam chowder, or soup of the day. I had the clam chowder, which was decent, but I prefer my chowder with a stronger clam flavor. The star of the show, the prime rib, comes with 2 sides, garlic mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, or vegetables. The prime rib was a decent size and perfectly cooked and their mashed potatoes are absolutely delicious. We also shared a side of Brussels sprouts and macaroni and cheese, which were both good. Ended our meal with matcha bread pudding and creme brulee, both fantastic. Despite the busy night, the service was on point, making sure we had everything we needed throughout the evening. Throughout the years, my experience at Birk's has been consistent and I've always enjoyed my time dining there. Birk's is a must-try whether you're planning a romantic date night, a cozy family dinner, or simply seeking a spot to unwind for happy hour.

My review is late (sorry been busy with work). My wife took our kids to Birks Restaurant on New Year's Eve for dinner. It was outstanding and while the last time I was at this restaurant was over 10 years ago, it still lived up to my expectations. Ambiance: The restaurant needs a little maintenance work. The fixtures look old and worked...no surprise as this restaurant has been around for ages. Service: It was as expected for a high-end place like this - GOOD. Food: See below ----------------------- * Bread and butter: This is outstanding just by itself! Yummm! * Appetizer - Chipotle Steak Bits: We got this and from the pic you'll see we all devoured this. I would get this if you are going to share o/w it is quite heavy. * Sides - Truffle Mac and Cheese: This was SO GOOD. I would highly recommend it especially if you have adults who like Mac and Cheese and kids as part of the Company. I would warn you that it is quite heavy. - Mashed potatoes: Good...but nothing special. - Spinach: Good and well sauteed * Mains - My sons each had the Filet Mignon and they both loved it. They got it with mashed potatoes and spinach (see pic) * Special: My wife had the pasta special which was elbow pasta in a creamy sauce with chicken - it was very tasty. * Sea Bass: I had the sea bass (see pic). It was a FANTASTIC presentation (the picture doesn't do it justice). It was tasty but I won't get this again...I don't like sweet with my dinner meats and fish and this one was a little too sweet for my taste. That said, I did finish it. All in all this is a good spot - we will again start to visit it again (the last time my wife and I went here was before we had kids). Now that we know our kids like the food there and it is kid friendly we will go there again.

Birk's serves up hardwood grill steaks, chops, and seafood. It's considered an American cuisine and steakhouse. RESERVATION I made reservations for two on a Sunday evening through the OpenTable app. AMBIANCE Upscale attire. The interior is a traditional steakhouse and intimate. SERVICE Upon arrival, the hostess greeted us after assisting the group in front of us. We were seated swiftly. Our server was excellent. He was attentive and did a great job providing us with the best experience. Bravo! FOOD My SO and I decided to come here for dinner. It was a redo Valentine's dinner since the other restaurant we visited a week ago didn't hit the spot. We ordered the same thing here at Birk's, which was delicious. * BlackBerry Mint Bee's Knees cocktail * Blue Royale Mocktail * Crab Cakes -- This was our starter. The crab cakes were served with mango salsa, herb aioli, and arugula salad. The cakes were tasty and filled with shredded crab meat. A solid starter. * Pork Chops -- I ordered the pork chop; well done. The presentation of the pork chops was appetizing. The two chops were the perfect size, seasoned, and cooked well. The chops were accompanied by mashed potatoes and creamed spinach with bacon. * Filet Mignon 8oz -- This entree was served with mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach with garlic. The filet mignon was seasoned well and cooked correctly to be medium rare. The proteins were executed and well-seasoned. The sides were delicious. All in all, when it comes to steaks/chops and the sides, keep it simple and do it well -- that's what Birk's accomplished. Our drinks were good. We will return to Birk's to satisfy our cravings for what they serve--looking forward to the exceptional customer service provided on our last visit.

Was craving some prime rib and wanted to try this place suggested by my buddy. It was a good choice and I could confidently suggest it as well. Not knowing what to expect, I made reservations for 6:00 pm. When we arrived, it appeared that it was not necessary because their were only a few tables occupied. This was great because it gave us time to catch up with drinks at the bar. The appetizer: We had the flatbread and the fried calamari. Both were very good and will probably be my Go-To appetizer. The main course: I had the 12oz cut (Chairman) and it was just the right size. I'm a big eater, but know that I would not have finished the 20z cut (CEO). It was cooked to perfection--tender, firm and flavorful. Each bite was enjoyed like it was the last. Service: was okay and I would have liked a little more attention, but it was good enough to recommend. All in all, a good place to try if you're hankering for prime rib and don't want to break the bank. BTW, the place was packed by the time the entrees was served.
